Except for its marvellous beaches, where you can enjoy swimming, Pelion offers many opportunities for other summer activities, such as fishing, yachting, surfing, diving. Its an ideal destination for those who love excursions. There are a lot of footpaths, cobbled trails and tracks, that will help you discover the beauty of nature and will easily lead you to the neighbouring villages.
In Pelion, you will find many traditional mansions, fountains with fresh water, towering trees, lots of museums and other sites. Particularly Fampeion Museum of Painter - Sculptor is based in Lafkos.
You should always remember that Pelion might surprise you by offering something new and exceptional to see in every corner.
Another interesting way to explore the area is a ride with horses. Those who wish to participate in such an activity, can join tours organized by professional instructors and guides.
Finally, there is the famous old train of Pelion, which can take you to a magic trip in a totally unusual way, that no longer exists, as the train has been raplaced by the car.
During summer, there are bars waiting for you in the beaches of the area, as well as cruise-boats ready to take you to the neighbouring island of Skiathos.
Pelion is not only beautiful in summer. In winter, you will be compensated by rides with mountain-bikes and endless walks in the picturesque alleys, always accompanied by your camera.
And for those who love skiing, Agriolefkes is the famous ski resort in Chania, which is swarming with tourists, Greeks and foreigners, who come to enjoy the pleasure of snow. Snowfall period usually starts at the end of November and might last until March.
